The Mari Lwyd Procession
At the heart of the festival is the legendary Mari Lwyd, one of Wales’ most fascinating and mysterious traditions.
Accompanied by lantern bearers, musicians and festival-goers, the procession makes its way through the historic grounds of Gower Heritage Centre before continuing towards the orchard.
Filled with music, storytelling and atmosphere, the Mari Lwyd procession has become one of the most anticipated moments of the weekend and creates an unforgettable spectacle for visitors of all ages.
The Wassail Ceremony
Wassailing is an ancient tradition carried out to bless the orchard and encourage a healthy apple harvest for the year ahead.
As lanterns flicker beneath the trees, visitors join musicians, storytellers and cider makers in a celebration that connects people to the land, the orchard and centuries of Welsh tradition.
Warm mulled cider, song and community spirit come together to create one of the most memorable moments of the festival.
Music, Fire & Celebration
As darkness falls, the festival comes alive with music, firelight and celebration.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can enjoy live folk music, traditional performances and a vibrant community atmosphere that brings the historic mill site to life.
Fire performers, lantern displays and seasonal food and drink create a magical setting where Welsh culture, storytelling and entertainment come together beneath the winter sky.
Whether you’re joining friends around the fire, listening to live music or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the festival offers an experience unlike any other in Wales.
