Traditional Bread Making

A Taste of History.

The 12th century waterwheel  at the Gower Heritage Centre turns the French quern stones that grind the flour that you will be using on this course.

Traditional and Artisan. The pure craft of bread making. You will learn about different flours and grains, specifically yeast starters, the kneading, proving and knocking back that for centuries has been part of the art of the bread maker.

 

There is nothing as delicious as the distinctive scent of home made bread baking and cooling in your kitchen. Join us at the 12th century water powered Mill, Gower Heritage Centre to discover the secrets of the Artisan Loaf. 

At the end of the course you will be treated to a Gower High Tea and time to sit down, relax and chat.

You will need:

  • Apron
  • Baking tray
  • Containers to take your delicious breads and doughs home to bake at your leisure
  • Tea Towel
