Family Fun
Let
the kids play...
This is just the place for families to enjoy a day out together. We
have absolutely loads of things for children to do: indoor and outdoor
play areas for younger children, a sand-pit adventure playground, ducks,
chickens, horses, goats and more for them to feed. You can have a go
at one of the traditional Victorian games or try the kids quiz. The
resident potter, can help you to throw your own pot on the wheel or
try your hand at some clay modelling. Every weekend and during school
holidays, there will be themed craft workshops from pirate hat making
to viking jewellery (please ask at reception for more details). Many
of our local visitors like to let the children play with the ride-on
tractors while the grown-ups enjoy coffee and Welsh cakes made in the
tearooms!
There's something for all the family...
Every day there are guided tours of the corn mill and saw mill and the
blacksmith will also fire up the forge and show you how it was used.
We also have a collection of traditional Welsh Coracles and weather
permitting, you can watch how they were used on the rivers and estuaries
of Wales.
Party time...
Lots of children come to us for their birthday
parties. With a choice of menus and optional workshops, we can ensure
that children and adults alike will enjoy that special day.
Animals
at the Heritage
Centre...
We have lots of friendly chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses,
geese and pygmy goats all waiting to see you. You might even be lucky
enough to see newborn chicks and ducklings in the Eggucation Centre.
